Establishing shot
- it introduces new scenes and tell the audience where and when the action is happening. They can also set up a point of view or help develop character.
Long shot
- it is a scene shot from a considerable distance, so that the subject appears as small shapes. An extreme long shot is a view from an even greater distance, in which people appear as small dots in the landscape.
Medium shot
-is used to emphasise the actor and their surroundings by giving them an equal presence on screen.
Close up
-it adds emotion to a scene. It closely frames an actor's face, which makes their reaction the main focus in the frame.
Extreme close up
-it frames only the actors facial features. It frames only a portion of the subject. Shows the
actors emotions.
high-angle shot
-is a cinematography technique.
-the camera points down on the subject from above.
-they are used to make the subject or object seem vulnerable, powerless, or weak.
Low angle shot
-is a shot from a camera angle positioned anywhere below the eye line, pointing upward. ---it can even be below the character’s feet which is called an extreme low angle shot.
-it can make a hero seem powerful
-it can make a hero seem vulnerable
-it can increase perceived height of an object
point of view shot
-is shot as if the audience were looking through the eyes of a character.
-the shot is common in horror film.
over the shoulder shot
-the camera is placed just behind an "off-screen" actor so that their shoulder is in the frame while the camera captures the "on-screen" actor'.
