In this lesson we were asked to pair up in threes and make a short sequence going of a given script. We were aloud to use the script however we wanted to. (Regarding our topic of choice)
We were supposed to come up with what we were going to do in our groups and then go away from the classroom and film the sequence. Then after about 30 minutes we had to come back and edit it in IMovie and then send it of.
So in our group me and Pandora were the actors and the initial idea for the sequence was brought up by me. The was idea that we (me&Pandora) could pretend that we were steeling teachers food. The rest of the group agreed with the idea.
We went to get our props (food/snacks) in the main house and then we decided to film in the main hallway in the main building right by reception. Which was a bad decision all together. Even tho there were no people in the hallway and it was completely silent when we first got there... that changed the within the next couple minutes.
All the teachers and staff started to come out their offices and started eating the food we were using as props. Then they kept being in the shot... and talking.
GT wanted to be the camera man so he was the one who filmed all the shots on his phone.
Me and Pandora organized the script and the concept of it. And then acted it out.
When we finished filming we went back to the class room to edit the clips...
But we had some serious technical problems with transportation the clips to the computer... and then all the shots GT took were mostly very blurred and in some videos the sound was muffled or not at all...
I think that the way we wanted to go about it and the way it actually turned out we’re two different things. I think the idea and concept was well thought out, but still out group failed to present the sequence and the quality of the shots were very poor and due to technical difficulties we couldn’t even export them from GTs phone.
Also I learned that we have to film in a quite space, where we wouldn’t be interrupted. (Next time) Also by other people being in our filming space effected our conversation and the filming took way more time that it would’ve.
Although this exercise failed (for our group) it was a interesting first experience. And we definitely learned what not to do in the future when we will be filming.
