Kill Bill – sound

 As the opening scene starts we hear country/western music while there are nails being hammered into a wooden coffin… this means the sound (the music) doesn’t go with what we are seeing in the scene which make the sound CONTRAPUNTAL.  

The women in the coffin is gasping for breath and it’s a SYNCHRONOUS sound (realistic).

The screen goes dark, so the only thing we acknowledge is the sound. We can hear men grunting while lifting the coffin. Then we hear the coffin being lowered into the ground (still with the screen being dark). When the coffin is set into the ground everything goes silent and then we hear people digging up the grave. We hear the women screaming and banging on the lid, also she turned on a torch which made us see what was going on.
